Landlords to Achieve EPC band rating “C” Grade
by 2027!
Within the London Evening Standard Joseph Watts reported: –
“Landlords, who own more than half a million London Homes, will be forced to upgrade properties so they are more energy efficient under plans announced by Labour today (Monday 22 September 2014).
Shadow energy secretary Caroline Flint claimed that one of the main reasons energy bills are high is that houses are badly insulated. She said forcing landlords to better insulate would save the average home £273. Her package of energy measures announced at Labour conference state that every privatively rented home would have to achieve a higher “C” grade (Sic Asset / Band Rating) on its Energy Performance Certificate by 2027.”
